For hundreds and hundreds of years now tea has been a popular beverage to many. Not only does it taste delicious, but drinking tea also comes with many health benefits. Originally, tea came from China but later, the Chinese exported tea to other countries. In ancient times tea used to be very expensive and only those who were affluent could afford to have tea as part of their daily diet.    

Now, in this day and age practically anyone can enjoy tea! Just go to any supermarket and chances are you will find a whole section on the aisle dedicated solely to this wonderful beverage!

Tea comes in many flavors! Tea is basically made by extracting the fluids from roots, bark, leaves, blossoms, etc. This is why tea has so many varieties, since they come from so many sources. Ranging in taste from bitter, tangy, sweet, sour, etc.

Tea also has an invigorating effect on the body. The Chinese were the first ones to discover its medicinal properties. As early as 2737 B.C. they were already consuming tea for its health giving properties, to add to the fact that tea also tastes delicious.

In many cultures in Asia, tea plays an important role in their lives. So much so that they even have tea ceremonies. Also in Asia, as tea became more widely available, it became a staple in many people’s diet.

A favorite of many is the persimmon tea. This comes from the persimmon fruit. Persimmons are an extremely nutritious fruit. Scientists have discovered that eating just one persimmon a day can help fight off cardiovascular diseases. It contains a high amount of fiber. Plus it is rich in iron, magnesium, and calcium.

The Benefits of Persimmon tea

-Drinking Persimmon tea has a soothing effect on the body. What better way to unwind after a long day at work than to have a cup of tea while reading a good book?

-Another health benefit of drinking tea is that it is good for digestion. Since the early times, after a heavy meal people have been known to drink tea to help aid the process of digestion. It has been said that drinking tea helps digest greasy food!

– Persimmon tea contains antioxidants that help combat cancer. Plus, it is a great source of vitamin C. Some even claim, that this is good for those who are experiencing a hangover. Tea has a calming effect on one’s system. Plus, the vitamin C contained in persimmon tea helps the liver to dispel the alcohol.

-Homemade persimmon tea is good for treating diarrhea. Just cut up about 5 whole persimmons into wedges and boil them in 3 cups of water. Let it boil for about 25 minutes. Let it cool, then strain. Drink about a couple of cups, every four hours.

– Tea contains less caffeine that coffee or soda. For those who are trying to stay away from caffeine, they might want to give persimmon tea a try!

For those who have never taken the time to discover this wonderful beverage called tea. Now is a good time to start. There have been numerous medical findings that claim drinking a few cups of tea can go a long way in keeping many illnesses at bay. This includes lowering the risk of developing some serious health problems such as heart disease, cancer, and stroke.

So the next time you are at your local supermarket, instead of grabbing that six pack of soda. Go get yourself some persimmon tea! People will be surprised at how wonderful, healthy and enlightening drinking tea can be.
