Get Rid Of Those Love Handles

Whether you have them or want to get rid of them, everyone knows what they are. We call them sweet or cute, others think that they are an annoyance, and many dread having them. However you view them nobody wants to let on that they have them. If you do have them we are all looking for a way to lose them.

While some are easy to hide under some loose clothing, others cannot be contained in this manner. And this is just another way of us saying that we do not want to admit that we have those dreaded “Love Handles” and long to see them disappear. Women will stuff themselves into clothing that is a size or so too small and men will admit to nothing, instead they will say, “That is just old muscle”.   

 Women and men both are candidates for “Love Handles” however due to the body make up of women and the fact the their bodies have more water retention than men. This in turn stores more fat cells, so ladies should be extra careful over the holiday seasons and watch what they eat. Be sure and leave those sugar filled treats and extra thick seasonal pastries that seem to be calling us over to the party trays.

 Living today in this picture perfect world, where body consciousness is everything we hate to confess when we put on a few extra pounds no matter what time of year it is. So it pays to be prepared for any upcoming festive seasons and watch what we eat during those times. You will see many people start to exercise or go on a diet to get ready for those big holiday meals that lead us down the path of obesity.

We humans are not perfect and we do not always eat the right things day in and day out, but a good start to getting rid of those love handle will be to start leaving those fatty foods alone. Avoid that trip to the fast food place at lunchtime, stay away from those snacks in the snack machine at work, and have some fresh vegetables or a serving of fruits instead. Eat smaller portions of those mash potatoes at dinner and cut back on your high fat food intake.

If you do not burn it off then it will stay on the hips, so a little exercise will not hurt either. Keep in mind that after any holdiay season you will want to continue to look and feel good so getting th proper amount of exercise will be important to fight those ever growing “Love Handles”. The sooner you start your exercise program the sooner you will start to see the results that you are looking for.

To effectively burn fats and lose weight you will need to stimulate the parts of you body where the deposited fat cells seem to settle, usually around our hips. Exercising the whole body will stimulate the muscles to work, release and burn the stored fat cells for energy. The more you work out the more fat cells get turned into energy, and this in turn will allow you to start getting rid of that weight.

 A good exercise routine will help you to get your heart rate up, blood pumping, be low impact, and help you to burn those calories. Aerobics, Yoga, and step classes are some of the options available to most of us. If you like to pump a little iron then joining a local health club may be an option, or you can start with walking around the block or taking advantage of you local parks to spend some active time.

No matter what type of healthy activities you decide are best for you, just remember that the sooner you get started then the sooner you will start to see the results you are looking to get.
